COVID-19 Policy

The government has not provided any guidance specific to counselling, but I abide by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s guidance on keeping workers and clients safe in close contact services.

Face to face counselling

The aim of my policy is to limit onward transmission of the virus, while also offering the benefit of face to face therapy.

In the comfort of my counselling room there’s more than the guideline 2 metres apart. Before your arrival I will clean the door handles and the surfaces on your chair. You don’t need to wear PPE, such as a mask or gloves while in a room with me. If you’re unwell prior to our appointment, please let me know, so we either arrange for an online session or rearrange for a later date.

Please, let me know if you have suspected COVID-19, you’ve had a positive test or have been asked to self-isolate. I will let you know if I have suspected COVID-19, a positive test or been asked to self isolate. Payment needs to be made by bank transfer at the end of our meeting

Online

Therapy can be just as effective when delivered online. I have been working online for over 5 years. This way of conducting therapy is becoming more and more popular, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is delivered via a mutually agreed third party provider such as Zoom or WhatsApp etc. In case of a technological failure I will offer a voice call. Payment needs to be made by bank transfer at the end of our session.

Walk and Talk Therapy

This type of therapy is in an open space within Reigate in a wooded area. We can also sit and talk on a bench or on a grass. The area I’ve chosen allows us to walk side by side whilst keeping a 2 metre distance.

I’m happy to be outside in all weather for as long as it’s safe for both of us.

Payment needs to be made by bank transfer after our session.
